Weddings at the ranch

From a ceremony with sweeping views of the national forest, to afternoon swims in the creek, to dancing under the stars and late night campfires, you and your guests will be talking about your unique wedding getaway for years to come.

With no curfew and the perfect set up for your guests to spend the weekend together, we invite you to create a wedding that best reflects your story.

Guests

With indoor accommodations for up to 30 guests and covered sleeping platforms for up to 200 guests, there’s plenty of space for all your friends and loved ones.

Tucked in the mountains, The Bar 717 Ranch provides a secluded and picturesque event venue on 450 acres in Trinity County, California.

YOUR CeremonY

The Ranch has several locations that naturally lend themselves to a beautiful ceremony location with easy access and beautiful views.

The Amphitheater is built into the hillside and has a view of the green pastures, the Ranch’s buildings and Gates Mountain. Our stone seats easily accommodate 200 people. Electricity is available at this location and the lawn is always green.

Inspiration Point, a short walk (or drive) west of our main ranch area, is a beautiful flat green lawn with a majestic backdrop of mountains and sky. Guests are responsible for seating in this location. If electricity is required, please inquire about the use of our small generator.

The Homestead is located a half mile down the hill from our main ranch area. This site is an open meadow surrounded by trees and just above the creek and swimming hole. Parking is limited so most guests will need to walk.

Availability

The Ranch is available for weddings from mid-April through May, then again from the end of August through October (no availability in winter or summer). Our Mediterranean climate typically brings mild weather with warm days and cool nights through the fall and spring. Accommodations

Our site rental includes access to a variety of accommodation options for you and your guests, many of which have a rustic and comfortable summer camp ambiance.

With space to sleep up to 200 outdoors, plus indoor guest rooms for up to 30 and a variety of outdoor camping and RV parking spots, there’s plenty of room for everyone on your list!

  • We have fourteen ‘motel style’ indoor rooms for a select number of your guests to enjoy. Each indoor room is unique but typically has its own bathroom with a shower and a queen bed. View photos and more detailed descriptions of our indoor accommodations.

  • Our most popular accommodations for the bulk of your guests are our Sleeping Platforms – beautiful wooden structures with views of the surrounding woods. They have a slanted tin roof, a back wall, and are open on the remaining three sides to the mountain air. Each platform hosts a simple bathroom, with showers available a short walk away.

  • The Ranch is full of fantastic camping spots. There are plenty of places for your guests to tent up in grassy fields, sandy river beaches or a forest setting. Guests can camp close to main camp or, if they are looking for something more secluded, they are welcome to venture off the beaten path to find their own “perfect” camp spot.

  • Our property has several drivable, flat areas for any guests looking to stay in their RV or camper. However, we don’t yet have hookups for those needing power or water for their rig—please ensure your guests plan accordingly.

  • Well, as “nearby” as it gets! The small towns of Hyampom, Hayfork and Weaverville each have lodging possibilities for your guests. In most cases these small business are operated by local families and do not have the consistency of business to be open all the time. We recommend contacting them early to arrange your guests’ stay.

Food and Drink

Cooking up three hot meals a day for countless campers and staff since 1930, our kitchen is well practiced at serving happy and hungry gatherings.

  • Meals at the Ranch are enjoyed on our outdoor eating platform, where our hand built wooden picnic tables (seats 200) and serving windows are all set up to provide a fun, interactive, and efficient family-style meal time.

    If you’d like to host a meal elsewhere on the property, we’re happy to facilitate dinner on the lawn, with dancing available on the lawn or by the amphitheater.

  • Should you choose to host your events using our existing furnished spaces (i.e. meals on the eating platform, ceremony at the amphitheater), you may not need to consider additional rentals for tables, chairs, etc.

    To make more of the property available for your series of events, you may choose to rent tables, chairs, and other seating. Rentals are not included in the cost of the property rental. Our team is happy to provide you with a suggested rentals vendor we have worked with in the past.

  • Pricing per head per meal depends on your mealtime desires and can be worked out with the kitchen coordinator. Please send us an email or inquire using the form below for more information.

  • Please plan to provide your own alcohol for your event. The Ranch has a wooden bar and often can hire a bartender upon request. Our kitchen coordinator can also help design and facilitate any signature cocktails you would like to provide to your guests.
