Camp Dance

There’s no feeling quite like dance night at camp. Bellies full of tasty food, dance outfits on, the apple trees seem to buzz with energy and excitement. We rush to the dance floor (with a pit stop at the Costume Shop, of course) when the bell rings to start with our traditional first dance: the Hokey Pokey. Many of our camp dances are set to songs that you’ll hear all over the place. We’ve seen the Hyampom Hustle at weddings, Amos Moses in a flash mob at the beach, and a spontaneous Pata Pata when the song comes on the radio at the grocery store. To help you with your dancing from afar, we’ve put together a Spotify playlist of camp dance songs. Plus, some of our recent counselors, staff, and campers offered to help us out by showing off their moves to teach the dances. Check out their videos below!

If you feel inspired, please feel free to send us your dance videos too! We’d love to feature you in our Camping From Afar slideshow! Send any photos or videos to submissions@bar717.com. Happy Dancing!
