Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing you to our summer staff for 2018. Meet Quinn, who will be joining us as a first-year counselor this summer!
What is your name?
Quinn Crossman
Where are you from?
I was born in a small English city called Exeter. When I was 4 my family moved to Charleston, South Carolina. I lived there for 8 years, and when I was halfway through middle school we moved again, this time to New York! I lived in Mamaroneck, NY, which is about a 30 minute train ride north of New York City, and once I’d graduated high school my parents moved one more time to Los Angeles. I’m currently attending college at Humboldt State University.
What drew you to the Bar 717 Ranch?
Bar 717 Ranch seemed like the perfect place to spend a couple months! I love the outdoors, working with kids and young adults, and engaging with the environment. Bar 717 attracted me particularly because of its age and values: coming to this community felt like continuing a practice that’s existed for decades.
What are you most looking forward to about camp?
I’m most looking forward to seeing the campers! I’ve always loved spending time with kids, so I’m really hoping to be able to teach campers about nature and developing strong bonds with the camp community.
