Over the next few months, we’ll be introducing you to our summer staff for 2016. Meet Aly, a California native, who will be joining us as a first-year counselor this summer!
What is your name?
Aly Lamborn
Where are you from?
I am from Ramona, a small town in San Diego County, but I am currently going to school at Abilene Christian University, where I am an elementary education major.
What program(s) will you be leading at camp, and how did you get your experience in that area?
I will be working in the barn! I grew up with horses and have loved working with them since I was little. I also took lessons and competed for several years.
What drew you to the Bar 717 Ranch?
I love that Bar 717 really focuses on the campers’ independence. I spent most of my summers at various camps, both as a camper and an assistant counselor. I have never camped at Bar 717, but I am thrilled to work at Bar 717 this summer. Camp really gives the campers a chance to be themselves and have fun!
What are you most looking forward to about camp?
I am so excited to work with kids and watch how they grow and push themselves at camp. It is so fun to see campers have fun and meet new people!
