Over the next several months, we’ll be introducing you to our summer staff for 2019. Meet Suzie, who will be joining us as a first-year counselor this summer!

What program(s) will you be leading at camp, and how did you get your experience in that area?
I’ll be helping with the small animals program and I’ll be helping out with the rifle program as well! I’ve gained my experience with both of these things from growing up on a small farm in rural Australia. We’ve always had animals and my dad taught me how to shoot.

hat drew you to the Bar 717 Ranch?
I loved the way that kids are able to do what interests them as opposed to having a set routine, and the scenery looks absolutely beautiful. I have experience with most of the programs the camp has to offer, so I believe I will feel right at home!
What are you most looking forward to about camp?
I’m really looking forward to meeting the kids and the other councilors! I’ve always loved meeting new people and making new friends! I’m also really excited to see what the American wilderness is like, I really love the outdoors so I think it will be really different to what I’m used to!
