In November, we hosted our fall work weekend! The weather was perfect for working outside and we were able to complete several projects with the help of many hands. Our work included reducing fuels and burning brush in the upper living area, putting the garden to bed for the winter, and taking down some unused structures in the Bigfoot Area. It was nice to see old friends and work alongside former campers and staff members whose camp years spanned the decades from the 1960s up to as recently as this past summer. Alongside the planned projects, attendees also had time to enjoy the ranch, taking hay to the horses across the river at Emily’s or hiking to the falls on Corral Creek. Thanks to all those who joined us — your efforts made the ranch a better place for everyone. Here are a few snapshots of the weekend, graciously shared by some of our awesome participants!
We look forward to hosting a spring work weekend in early 2024. Keep an eye out for those dates coming soon!
Very nice to participate in Fall work weekend. 717 has a special place in the Pirl brothers hearts. May it continue to provide meaningful and foundational experiences for many children for generations to come.
